The Town of Southwest Ranches is offering a 1920s clapboard vernacular structure, currently located at Southwest Meadows Sanctuary, for surplus disposition. The building was donated to the Town in 2006 and relocated from its original site, where it had stood for approximately 80 years.

The structure is being made available strictly as-is, where-is. The buyer will assume all liability, risks, and costs associated with dismantling and/or moving the structure from its current location. Please note that there is an active beehive in and around the structure.

The Town has not undertaken renovations or maintenance, and no funding has been allocated for its repair. The Town Council has authorized demolition of the structure; however, before proceeding, the Town is providing the opportunity for others to acquire it if desired.

Important Notice: This offer applies only to the structure. The land on which the structure is located, and any portion thereof, is not included and is not available for sale or auction.

Questions shall be directed to December Lauretano-Haines; Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Director; at 954-343-7452.

BUYER must remove the auction item(s) within thirty (30) business days from the time and date of issuance of the Notice of Award, and with notification by Public Surplus (or other platform administrator) of receipt of payment.

Successful bidders are solely responsible for all arrangements and work necessary to remove the Property, including but not limited to dismantling, packing, loading, and transportation, from the location identified in the Notice of Award. Under no circumstances will the TOWN assume responsibility for packing, loading, shipping, or any related costs. Property may be removed only between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, unless otherwise approved in writing by the Town.

Storage Fees

If storage fees equal or exceed the amount of the sales price, the Property will be deemed abandoned and may be re-listed in accordance with the TOWN’s surplus property policy. In the event of such re-sale, the original BUYER shall not be entitled to any refund of the purchase price or storage fees.
