🔎 Condition

  • UNTESTED — No power-on or operational testing performed. Unknown working condition of GC oven, MS vacuum system, pumps, electronics, or controller.
  • AS-IS / WHERE-IS. Cosmetic wear from institutional use; dust, tape residue, panel scuffs, aged tubing, and nicked insulation visible. Interior of GC oven appears intact from the door-open photo, but no guarantees are made.
  • Includes only the items and cabling visible in the pictures. No software, computers, carts, gases, columns, filaments, roughing/turbo pumps, or consumables are guaranteed.

🔧 Suggested Alternate Uses (even if not restored to service)

  1. Training / Education:
    • Hands-on teaching platform for GC-MS plumbing, vacuum hardware, interlocks, I/O, and method concepts (without risking a production instrument).
  2. Parts Harvesting:
    • Enclosures, power supplies, fans, connectors, valves, solenoids, heaters, temperature sensors, wiring harnesses, and panel hardware useful for maintaining other Thermo GC or MS units.
  3. Engineering / Maker Projects:
    • Repurpose the GC oven for controlled-temperature projects (with appropriate controls added).
    • Reuse vacuum manifolds, fittings, and panel hardware for custom instrumentation or leak-test rigs.
  4. Demonstration / Prop:
    • Non-operational lab set piece for STEM outreach, museum displays, or film/TV production.

⚖️ Approx. Size & Handling

  • Palletized lot as pictured; heavy equipment — bring proper gear and help to load.
