What’s visible in the photos:

  • Front panel: Digital display, numeric keypad, and function buttons including Zero, Start, Temp Set, Laser, Mode, etc.
  • Rear panel:
    • Manufacturer tag reading Wyatt Technology, Santa Barbara, CA
    • Model number label (partially visible)
    • Power inlet with ON/OFF rocker switch
    • Fan/vent with dust filter
    • Fluid connections (tubing attached)
    • Multi-pin communication ports

Condition

  • UNTESTED. This unit has not been powered on or evaluated.
  • AS-IS / WHERE-IS, with no guarantees on performance or completeness.
  • Tubing shows age discoloration; unit appears intact but dusty from storage.
  • Only items shown in photos are included.

🔧 Alternate Uses

Even without guaranteed functionality, this refractometer is extremely useful to several audiences:

1. Laboratory & Academic Use

  • Training instrument for chromatography students learning detector principles.
  • Demonstrator for interferometric refractive-index measurement concepts.
  • Spare-parts donor for labs still using legacy Wyatt systems.

2. Engineering & Maker Use

  • Good candidate for sensor-teardown projects (optical bench, laser module, temperature-control block).
  • Could be repurposed as a temperature-stable optics platform.
  • Internal components useful for custom fluidics, pump, or optical-feedback experiments.

3. Creative / Technical Repurposing

  • Convert into a science-themed display, educational demo box, or museum piece.
  • Use the housing for custom electronics or precision-measurement prototypes.
